DTI bats for quality goods, services via PQA regionalization

PCG urges public to report ‘malicious’ recruitment, transactions

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is urging the public to report suspicious individuals or events that recruit for PCG training or other malicious transactions following the arrest of an illegal recruiter.   In a statement on Thursday, PCG Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu said recruitment for pay and other illegal transactions are not tolerated by the PCG and “does not align with the organization’s core values.”   “Moreover, PCG encourages the public to communicate complaints against Coast Guard personnel for any irregularities that may misrepresent the organization,” Abu said.   All messages and reports sent to the PCG through proper channels,

23 human trafficking victims rescued in Agusan Norte

SC reminds lawyers to avoid conflicting interest situations

The Supreme Court (SC) has reminded lawyers against taking up cases between clients which gives rise to a conflict of interest, as it suspended a lawyer for three months after finding him administratively liable for violating the prohibition.   In its resolution uploaded online on October 4, the court reiterated that a lawyer’s “duty of loyalty to client subsists even after the termination of the attorney-client relationship.” This as the high court suspended lawyer Magnificus Cañete for three months after finding him administratively liable for representing conflicting interests.   The complaint had been lodged by businessman Manuel L.
