BOC Seizes PHP40-M Worth of Misdeclared Vape Products from China

Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Thursday conducted an inspection of misdeclared vape products and other regulated goods valued at PHP40.5 million at the Manila International Container Port (MICP). Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip Maronilla, Deputy Commissioner Romeo Allan Rosales, and District Collector Rizalino Jose Torralba led the inspection of the three containers loaded with the seized items, which originated from China and were falsely declared as kitchenware. Government Plans to Lower Holiday Pork Prices Through Kadiwa Outlets Under MAV Plus Scheme

Manila: To help bring down prices during the holiday season, the Department of Agriculture (DA) is planning to channel most of the pork imports under the proposed Minimum Access Volume (MAV) Plus to Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) outlets. MAV, an import system for commodities’ entry, sets the tariff for imported pork at 15 percent, much lower than the 25 percent tariff rate outside MAV.
