168 low-income Manila families transfer to ‘Tondominium’

A total of 168 families received their condominium units from the city government at Tondominium 1 along Vitas Street in Tondo, Manila on Monday. The construction of Tondominium 1 and 2, one of the housing projects of the city government, started in June 2020. Tondominium 2 is expected to be finished within the year. Thirteen cities and municipalities in Negros Occidental are being considered “areas of concern” in the May 9 national and local elections, according to data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec). The town government released Monday some PHP1.2 million worth of financial aid to hog farmers here affected by the African swine fever (ASF). Mark Osoteo, town information officer, said the recipients received the cash grants in a brief ceremony dubbed as the ‘Assistance to Swine Farmers’ attended by several local officials and agriculture personnel at the town hall. A bomb attack against government forces was foiled as two members of the Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group (DI-MG) were captured in a pursuit operation in the province of Lanao del Sur, the military reported Monday. AFP, PNP, PCG join forces to ensure peaceful May 9 elections

T-bill rates post mixed results

The rates of Treasury bills (T-bill) moved sideways on Monday and demand for the debt paper remained strong with bids at more than twice the offer volume across the board. The average rate of the 91-day paper rose to 0.710 percent, the 182-day’ slipped to 1.022 percent, and the 364-day was unchanged at 1.408 percent. These were at 0.691 percent, 1.023 percent, and 1.408 percent for the three-month, six-month, and one-year paper during the auction last January 31.
