Pasig village to fund college education of 30 more scholars

A barangay in Pasig has added 30 more college scholarship slots for children of indigent families whose sources of income have been affected due to economic backlash caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Barangay San Antonio (BSA), Pasig now has a total of 110 college scholars with the addition of 30 more grantees since its initial implementation last year. BSA chairman Raymond Lising said he recently signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the new scholars of the barangay. Under the said scholarship program, each beneficiary will be provided PHP50,000 annual stipend for tuition fee and an additional PHP1,500 monthly allowance.

Almost 160K Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in Butuan

A total of 159,879 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines have already been administered in the city as of Tuesday. San Roque Dam not likely to release water

The San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC) is not likely to release water from the San Roque Dam despite slightly exceeding the 280 meters above sea level (masl) normal high water level. In an interview, SRPC vice president for corporate affairs Engr. Tom Valdez said the water level at San Roque Dam reached 281.27 masl on Wednesday, with an inflow of 673 centimeters (cms) and outflow of 275 cms. “We are not expecting the opening of any gates. Since the Severe Tropical Storm Maring was here, we have not opened the gates. We only released (it) for power generation,” he said.
