Typhoon Tino Claims 204 Lives Across the Philippines

Manila: The reported fatalities due to Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi) have reached 204, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Saturday. PBBM Imposes Zero Tariff on Tin Mill Black Plates for 3 Years

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued an executive order temporarily setting the import duty on tin mill black plates (TMBP) to zero percent to support the domestic tin plate and tin-free steel industries that supply the country’s canned food manufacturers. Storm Surge Alert Issued as Typhoon Uwan Approaches Luzon

Manila: The risk of “life-threatening storm surge” is high in at least 26 areas across the country, including the National Capital Region (NCR), as Typhoon Uwan moves toward Luzon. According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast storm surge heights of more than three meters in Albay, Aurora, Cagayan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Isabela, La Union, Pangasinan, Quezon, and Sorsogon. Typhoon Uwan Poses Increasing Threat as It Nears the Philippines

Manila: Typhoon Uwan has rapidly intensified over the Philippine Sea east of Eastern Visayas, the weather bureau said Saturday. In its latest bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the center of Typhoon Uwan is situated approximately 680 kilometers east of Borongan, Eastern Visayas or 760 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar. PBBM Extends Devolution Transition for LGUs Until 2028

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued Executive Order (EO) 103, extending the transition period for the full devolution of certain executive branch functions to local government units (LGUs) until 2028. According to Philippines News Agency, EO 103 signed on Nov. 6, mandates that provinces and municipalities gradually shift to full devolution by no later than 2028, while cities will fully implement the devolved functions and services by no later than 2027.
