LGUs Urged to Complete Evacuations Ahead of Typhoon Uwan

Manila: The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has urged all local government units in provinces expected to bear the brunt of Typhoon Uwan to finish their preemptive evacuation as soon as possible or by Sunday morning at the latest. According to Philippines News Agency, OCD Assistant Secretary Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV reported that several areas, including Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte, have started moving residents to safer grounds. PBA and Varsity Leagues Postpone Sunday Games Amid Typhoon Uwan Threat

Manila: The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) have announced the postponement of their scheduled Sunday games due to the impending threat posed by Typhoon Uwan to Luzon. According to Philippines News Agency, the PBA was the first to cancel its games on Saturday, halting its planned doubleheader at Ynares Center 2 in Rodriguez, Rizal. TNT was set to play Magnolia in the initial matchup, followed by Ginebra against Titan Ultra in the second game. The PBA released a statement urging individuals to take necessary precautions and remain safe
