DOH Activates Emergency Operations Center in Response to Typhoon Threats

Manila: The Department of Health (DOH) has activated its National Public Health Emergency Operations Center (PHEOC) as the Marcos administration declares a one-year state of national calamity due to the extensive damage caused by Typhoon Tino, and in preparation for the potential impact of Typhoon Uwan. According to Philippines News Agency, the DOH announced that the PHEOC will function as the central hub for coordinating health-related emergency responses, particularly during the anticipated effects of Typhoon Uwan. Towns Near Luzon Dams and Rivers Urged to Take Precautions Amid Water Releases

Manila: State weather bureau PAGASA on Saturday advised several communities near Magat, Angat, Cagayan, and Agno Rivers to take precautions as the five dams in the area are conducting preemptive water release.
