Manila: The Department of Health (DOH) has reported a substantial increase in cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD), with 7,598 instances recorded between January 1 and February 22. According to Philippines News Agency, this figure represents nearly triple the number of cases observed during the same timeframe in 2024, which stood at 2,665. The majority of these cases, approximately 52 percent, are concentrated in regions such as Central Luzon, Mimaropa, the National Capital Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region. Manila: The Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) has confiscated PHP25.6 million worth of illegal drugs in February this year. According to Philippines News Agency, PDEG acting chief Col. Rolando Cuya reported that the seized narcotics included 2.68 kilograms of shabu, 2 kilograms of dried marijuana, 30 milliliters of marijuana oil, and 95 pieces of ecstasy. Cavite: Three Vietnamese nationals were arrested in Cavite for allegedly practicing medicine without the necessary licenses and permits, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reported Sunday. According to Philippines News Agency, the CIDG identified the arrested foreigners as Julie Nguyen, Luna Pham, and Ryan Truong. The arrests took place on February 27 at a beauty lounge in Imus City. Marikina City: Marikina City on Sunday launched its own car-free program to promote an active and healthier lifestyle among residents.
