Bicol Housing Fair Launches with Pag-IBIG 3% Loan Offer

Legazpi:The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development-Bicol (DHSUD-5) is hosting a two-day housing fair at Pacific Mall, aimed at making government housing programs, financing options, and real estate opportunities more accessible to the public. The event, which began on Wednesday, is part of National Shelter Month 2026 and seeks to connect prospective homeowners with government agencies and private developers offering affordable housing solutions.

According to Philippines News Agency, the fair targets individuals and families who have yet to own homes. DHSUD-5 Project Development Officer Marc Severo highlighted the collaboration with developers to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing options. The event is an opportunity for those interested in homeownership to engage with stakeholders about available programs, such as the Pag-IBIG Fund, National Housing Authority, and the DHSUD's Expanded 4PH (Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino) program.

Pag-IBIG Fund Housing Relationship Officer Paul Oliquino explained that the 4PH program offers a promotional interest rate of 3 percent per annum to qualified borrowers. This offer applies to eligible condominium units priced up to PHP1.8 million and house and lot packages priced up to PHP950,000, subject to specific requirements. Additionally, Pag-IBIG Fund provides promotional rates of 4.5 percent for loans above PHP1.8 million up to PHP4.9 million, and 5.75 percent for loans above PHP4.9 million up to PHP10 million.

Oliquino urged Pag-IBIG Fund members contemplating home purchases to take advantage of these financing opportunities, emphasizing the affordability of the rates compared to those from other financial institutions. He noted that the campaign aims to inform members about these offers, encouraging them to seize the chance to acquire a home in the Philippines.

For interested applicants, submitting a housing loan application, a valid identification card, and proof of income is necessary to demonstrate their capacity to pay.
