Baguio opens investment areas to boost local economy

The city government has come up with a list of projects to attract investments aimed at generating revenues to boost the local economy and sustain the continuing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) response. “We have a list of several priority areas of investment that signals the start of a new day, a new Baguio for all investors,” lawyer Leticia Clemente, City Budget Officer, said during the weekly “Ugnayan” program of the City Public Information Office on Wednesday afternoon. DA-BFAR to put up fish feed mill in Aurora

Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Central Luzon (BFAR-3) Director Wilfredo Cruz on Thursday said a fish feed mill will be established in the province of Aurora in a bid to boost the fisheries sector. The project will be funded by the Department of Agriculture, BFAR-3, and the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute. DOST to assist Ilocos Norte in Paoay Lake cleanup

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), in partnership with the Ilocos Norte government and the communities around the lake, is offering a cost-effective solution for Paoay Lake’s E. coli problem. DOST Ilocos regional director Armando Ganal said in an interview Thursday a powder called Vigormin is the low-cost solution to reduce the coliform level due to wastewater, drainage systems, and residual solid waste accumulating in the lake during surface runoff. Ilocos Norte governor seeks more PAL flights, reduced airfare

As the province of Ilocos Norte offers “new normal” tourist attractions, the country’s flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to increase its number of flights from Manila to Laoag and vice versa this February. In its latest advisory, PAL’s flight schedule for February is now twice a week every Tuesday and Friday.
