Apple becomes first company to reach $3T market cap

The US-based technology giant Apple has become the first company with a USD3 trillion stock market value. Apple, whose stocks increased by three times since the beginning of the pandemic, gained a value of about 3 percent on Monday. On the first transaction day of 2022, the company’s shares hit USD182.88 to hit the market value of USD3 trillion. Aid continues to pour in areas hit by ‘Odette’ in Caraga

The delivery of the needed food and non-food items to residents hit by Typhoon Odette in the Caraga Region remains unhampered. Senate eyes inquiry into rising cybercrimes, bank frauds

The Senate will look into the proliferation of unauthorized bank transactions and text messages offering non-existent jobs that victimize unsuspecting Filipinos. Resolution No. 961, filed by Senator Win Gatchalian, seeks an inquiry with the end goal of strengthening the Data Privacy Act, Cybercrime Prevention Act, New Central Bank Act, and other related laws. BARMM turns over P4.2-M school building in Maguindanao

The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM), through its Education Facilities Section, has turned over a PHP4.2-million school building to the Schools’ Division of Maguindanao II. In a statement Tuesday, MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal said the modern single-story, two-classroom flagship building was turned over to the Ambolodto Elementary School Annex in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. “The turnover was held Monday, the first working day of 2022 for educators in the region,” Iqbal said. Bar exam to proceed on Jan. 23 and 25

The Bar Examination will push through this month amid calls to cancel it for the third straight year due to the pandemic and the destruction caused by Typhoon Odette in December. The Supreme Court (SC) announced Tuesday that the Bar exam with revised coverage will be held on January 23 and 25, with examinees taking four sets of examinations, pro hac vice (for this occasion only).
