The number of New People’s Army (NPA) rebels neutralized in Eastern Mindanao has skyrocketed to nearly 2,000 from January 1 to November 24 this year, the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) reported Thursday. An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday reported that the refurbishment of over 97,000 vote counting machines is almost complete. “We already refurbished 99.6 percent VCMs, that is 96,981.
