18.9M learners enrolled for AY 2021-2022: DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) on Tuesday reported that 18,901,373 learners have enrolled in public and private schools nationwide for Academic Year (AY) 2021-2022. Based on the latest data from its Learner Information System Quick Count, the department said 14,334,046 learners have enrolled as of August 31 and 4,557,327 during the early registration as of June 2. Region 4-A (Calabarzon) has logged the highest number of enrollees with 2,736,301, including 2,225,592 learners enrolled and 480,709 under early registration. DOT, partner agencies boost promotion of Filipino food experience

Several government agencies have partnered to boost the promotion of Filipino culinary traditions in the years to come through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed Wednesday. Through the MOU, the Department of Tourism (DOT), together with the Department of Agriculture (DA), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement (PCHM) will drive up appreciation and preservation of Filipino culinary traditions to ensure transmission to future generations. ‘Jolina’ causes power outages in S. Luzon, Samar

Police officers have apprehended a total of 1,027,615 persons in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus for violating quarantine protocols during its shift to modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
