Quezon city: Philippine economic growth slightly picked up to 5.5 percent in the second quarter of the year, making the country one of the fastest-growing in emerging Asia. Manila: The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Thursday filed fresh tax evasion charges involving an estimated PHP1.41 billion before the Department of Justice.
