Manila: Four ranking police officials have been included in the latest reorganization of the Philippine National Police (PNP). In an order dated August 6 and made public Thursday, PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III designated new roles for these officials.
According to Philippines News Agency, Brig. Gen. Jovencio Badua Jr. has been appointed as the director of the Maritime Group, taking over from Brig. Gen. Christopher Abecia. Brig. Gen. Abecia will now head the Police Regional Office (PRO) 1, located in Ilocos.
Furthermore, Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, previously the Director of the Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP), will now serve as the regional director of PRO 8 in Eastern Visayas. This change sees Brig. Gen. Jay Cumigad switching posts with Brig. Gen. Capoy to become the new director of AVSEGROUP.
The reshuffle within the PNP took effect on August 6, reflecting the organization’s ongoing efforts to optimize leadership roles within its ranks.
