Rommel Francisco Marbil designated Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta as officer in charge (OIC) of the office of the deputy commander of the Area Police Command (APC) in Southern Luzon. Northern Police District (NPD) Director Brig. Gen. The four nations will field teams in pencak silat, sepak takraw, archery, swimming, badminton, esports, karate and athletics on Dec. 1 to 5. The BIMP-EAGA Games was first held in 1996 in General Santos City to help promote and preserve each member’s culture and heritage. The Covid-19 pandemic halted the biennial tournament in 2020. Manila: The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Saturday urged the public to maintain vigilance as Kanlaon Volcano has increased activity. Degassing is normal and usually happens in an active volcano but Mt. Kanlaon’s restiveness has increased, according to Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol. “This (degassing) doesn’t always mean an eruption is coming, but it shows the volcano is restless and needs to be closely watched for signs of more activity,” Bacolcol told the Philippine News Agency. Manila: Interior Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla ordered the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) to intensify its crackdown on private armed groups (PAGs) before the 2025 midterm election activities go full swing. ‘Our fight against private armed groups must be relentless.
