MANILA: The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Thursday reported higher development of antibodies against African swine fever (ASF) among vaccinated hogs in two farms in Lobo, Batangas. This came 30 days after the DA – Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) rolled out the first government-controlled ASF vaccination using AVAC live vaccines on Aug. 30. BUTUAN CITY: Police arrested a major drug suspect and seized PHP6.9 million worth of suspected shabu in an anti-drug operation here on Wednesday, authorities said. The suspect, identified only as “Emman,” 38, a high-value target, was arrested during a sting operation around 9:30 a.m. at the Sports Complex in Purok 2, Barangay Libertad. Officers recovered 1.2 kilograms of suspected shabu. “The arrest of Emman sends a clear message that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated in Butuan City,” Col.
