DA: No expected price spike in pork despite ASF resurgence in Batangas

MANILA: The Department of Agriculture (DA) said on Monday that there are no expected price spikes in pork despite the resurgence of African swine fever (ASF) cases in Batangas. The DA made the statement after the Batangas Provincial Veterinary Office reported ASF cases in Lobo, Lian, Rosario, Calatagan, and Lipa City. DOLE issues pay rules for twin August holidays

MANILA: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Monday issued pay rules for two holidays this month. In Labor Advisory No. 9, Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma advised employers on the proper payment of wages for Aug. 21 (Ninoy Aquino Day) and Aug. 26 (National Heroes Day). Aug. 21 is a special non-working day while Aug. 26 is a regular holiday.
