Soccsksargen farmer groups to be SEC-registered

USA wins 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup

The USA has been crowned the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup champions after they beat China 83-61 in the final on Saturday.   Ariel Atkins hit a three-point jump shot as the USA extended the gap to double digits in the second quarter, 29-18.   At the Sydney Superdome, the USA led the game 43-33 before the break as forward A’Ja Wilson, 26, dominated the first two quarters, scoring 16 points for the Team USA.   By the end of the third quarter, the USA was in the commanding position with 68-47 after Kelsey Plum scored a layup.

Former female cop busted in CamSur drug sting

Members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) anti-scalawag unit have arrested a former female police officer during anti-illegal drug operations in Camarines Sur, a police official said on Sunday.   In a statement, Brig. Gen. Warren De Leon, chief of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), identified the suspect as former Corporal Richelle Magalona Mata, of San Rafael, Bato, Camarines Sur.   She was included in the counterintelligence watchlist (CIW) of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office, Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol). CIW is the list of PNP personnel with derogatory information after satisfying all the established parameters.  

6K DILG personnel get Covid vax via ‘PinasLakas’

A total of 6,140 employees of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) received Covid-19 booster shots in the simultaneous “Bakunahang Bayan: PinasLakas Special Vaccination Day” in its Central and Regional Offices on Saturday.   DILG Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr., who joined department employees in Koronadal, South Cotabato for the Bakunahan activity, said the simultaneous booster vaccination immunized 1,026 personnel from the Central Office and 5,114 from the regional offices of DILG.   He said this was a clear manifestation of the department, the national government, and various stakeholders’ united stand to end the Covid-19 pandemic by
