3 Marawi schools resume face-to-face classes Feb. 14

Three elementary schools here will implement limited face-to-face classes on Monday after finishing the simulation to determine solutions for possible problems. Angoyao Elementary School in Barangay Paridi, Mapandi Elementary School in Barangay Gadongan, and Nanapun Elementary School in Barangay Bangon all met the requirements for the resumption of physical classes. Caraga logs 219 recoveries, 58 new Covid-19 infections

A total of 219 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries were recorded in Caraga Region on Saturday. In its report on Sunday, the Department of Health in Caraga Region (DOH-13) said the new recoveries from coronavirus bring the total number to 55,007. The agency said the total number of cases in the region now stands at 58,231 after 58 new infections were recorded. PNP chief to poll bets: ‘Follow MMDA’s weekday ban on caravans’

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos urged candidates to observe campaign guidelines, particularly the Metro Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) directive prohibiting caravans in major thoroughfares on weekdays. PH Red Cross vax sites, buses administer close to 1M jabs

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) vaccination buses and centers are nearing the 1-million mark in Covid-19 jabs doses administered since it joined the nationwide drive in March last year. PRC has already administered 990,491 doses, with 341,684 fully vaccinated and 45,890 getting booster shots. LGUs back PhilSys-LandBank partnership for financial inclusion

Local government units (LGUs) are all-out in their support for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) which allows marginalized registrants to open bank accounts even without an initial deposit. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) recently organized a webinar, participated in by about 300 LGU representatives and other PhilSys stakeholders, where financial inclusion was discussed. The PSA has partnered with the state-run Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) to allow unbanked PhilSys registrants to finally have accounts.
