Kalinga seeks Alert Level 3 to curb soaring cases

The provincial government of Kalinga has sought an escalation to Alert Level 3 to control the sudden surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections in just over a week. “We are asking from the Regional Inter-agency Task Force (RIATF) to include Kalinga in Alert Level 3 because we are not under critical, high risk. No gun ban violator so far in Baguio: poll exec

The Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Baguio on Tuesday said no violator has so far been arrested since the start of the gun ban for the May 9 polls on Sunday. “Nobody has been caught violating and hopefully there will be no violator who will be caught,” said city election officer John Paul Martin in a message. Two local government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental have again been identified as possible “areas of concern” during the May 9 national and local elections. National government agencies have assured continuous assistance to the island town of Limasawa in Southern Leyte after Typhoon Odette battered several communities.
