LAPU-LAPU CITY: A PHP230-million socialized housing building will benefit 200 families from this city, the mayor said on Tuesday. Mayor Junard Ahong Chan announced that each unit in the five-story housing project will measure 24 square meters. This project aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
According to Philippines News Agency, the funds for the project are already available, and the property has been donated, allowing for immediate implementation. The project will be built on a two-hectare lot in Barangay Calawisan, donated by Johndorf Ventures Corporation, a private real estate company. Additionally, another housing project is planned for Barangay Canjulao.
Further details reveal that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources has required the local government to update the tax declaration of a 25-hectare area to reflect its ownership. This area was designated as an urban development and socialized housing site on March 25, 2003, by
then-president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo through Proclamation No. 346.
