Davao city: Police teams seized over PHP1.3 million worth of illegal drugs during a weeklong anti-illegal drug operation in the city, an official said Monday. DCPO acting chief Col. Mannan Muarip stated that the illegal drugs were confiscated during 35 coordinated operations conducted from Sept. 14 to 20. He added the operations led to the arrest of 43 individuals.
According to Philippines News Agency, authorities recovered 205.0370 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), with an estimated street value of PHP1.3 million, along with 2.87 grams of marijuana worth PHP344.40. In the same week, the DCPO also carried out 14 anti-illegal gambling operations, which resulted in the arrest of 16 individuals, the seizure of PHP3,790 in bet money, and the filing of 14 cases.
Muarip further reported that 44 operations were conducted against wanted persons, with 20 of them listed among the city’s most wanted. “These achievements reflect not only the dedication of the men and women of the DCPO but also the strong partnership with the community, barangay officials, and the local government unit. Together, we continue to build a safer and more peaceful Davao City,” he said.
