The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reaffirmed that all pandemic rules and regulations 'were enacted with the utmost consideration for the common good' following the Supreme Court decision to dismiss the petitions challenging the constitutionality of policies implemented by the DOH as the overseer of the Inter Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Diseases (IATF). In a press statement, the DOH noted that vaccination and booster doses remain as foremost line of defense against Covid-19. 'Scientific evidence unequivocally demonstrates that vaccines, coupled with the meticulous implementation of multiple layers of protection, have played an instrumental role in guiding our successful journey towards overcoming the challenges posed by the pandemic,' it said. 'By building a resilient barrier of immunity, we have substantially bolstered our collective resilience against the virus, paving the way for a triumphant transition towards a post-pandemic era,' the DOH said. The DOH expressed 'profound gratitude' for the favorable ruling rendered by the Supreme Court, adding that it will expeditiously issue a further statement once it officially receives and conducts a comprehensive review of the decision.
