Manila: Philippine passport holders with valid visas, residence permits, or green cards from select countries will now enjoy a visa-on-arrival option when traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), starting June 25.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Wednesday that the UAE has extended this privilege to Filipino citizens, highlighting the strong bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE. The new policy applies to those holding valid documents from the United States, European Union member states, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, or New Zealand.
Eligible travelers will have two options for obtaining their visas: a 14-day visa at a cost of AED 100, extendable once for an additional 14 days for AED 25, or a non-extendable 60-day stay for AED 250. This development follows a meeting between Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro and UAE Ambassador to the Philippines Mohamed Obaid Salem Alqataam Alzaabi. The talks focused on enhancing economic diplomacy and fostering greater people-to-people exchanges.
