Davao city: The city government has disbursed PHP6.6 million in financial assistance to areas in Cebu and Davao Oriental that have been impacted by recent natural disasters, including earthquakes and typhoons. According to Philippines News Agency, Alfredo Baloran, who leads the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), disclosed in an interview that PHP3.9 million was allocated to Cebu, while PHP2.7 million was dispatched to Davao Oriental. Erwin Tulfo has called for the streamlined distribution of death benefits for barangay officials by transferring the budget from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
