Marcos Orders Nonstop Aid and Rehabilitation After Super Typhoon Uwan Pounds Luzon

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered round-the-clock relief and rehabilitation operations in areas ravaged by Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) on Sunday night. In a statement Monday, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President directed all government agencies to stay on full alert, focusing on evacuation, medical deployment, and clearing operations. According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was tasked to sustain relief distribution and monitor evacuees’ conditions. Uwan Affects Over 12,500 Families in Western Visayas

Western visayas: Tropical Cyclone Uwan has impacted 12,545 families or 38,380 individuals across 284 barangays in 35 local government units in Western Visayas. According to data released by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 6 (DSWD FO6), these figures were confirmed on Monday. Cacdac Thanks HK for Wage Hike for Filipino Domestic Workers

Hong kong: Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac has thanked the Hong Kong government for approving a 2.2 percent increase in the minimum allowable wage (MAW) for foreign domestic workers, including Filipinos. In a Facebook post on Monday, Cacdac expressed gratitude to Labor and Welfare Chief Chris Y H Sun, JP, for the increase, which, he said, would mean a salary raise from 4,990 to 5,100 Hong Kong dollars per month for Filipino domestic workers.
