Navy Units on Heightened Readiness for Uwan Relief Missions

Manila: The Philippine Navy (PN) has placed all of its units on a heightened state of readiness for possible humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) missions in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong). In a statement on Monday, the PN said this includes all disaster and rescue teams and support units. According to Philippines News Agency, the Navy said units based in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, and Naval Base Heracleo Alano and Naval Station Pascual Ledesma in Cavite City conducted readiness checks to ensure that personnel, vehicles, and equipment are fully prepared for immediate deployment when needed.

PNP Units Remain on High Alert as Typhoon Uwan Departs from Philippine Landmass

Manila: Police units in Luzon and the Visayas remain on alert to ensure smooth disaster response in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong). Northern samar: The Northern Samar provincial government reported zero casualties after Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) unleashed its wrath on Sunday, with nearly 18 hours of fierce winds and heavy rains. All local government units confirmed no deaths despite the extensive impact of the typhoon, based on reports submitted to the Northern Samar Emergency Operations Center on Sunday night. According to Philippines News Agency, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) highlighted the effectiveness of timely preemptive evacuation efforts for 45,706 individuals before Uwan’s landfall. This proactive measure played a crucial role in achieving the zero-casualty goal.

P39.8-M Aid Extended to Tino-Hit Families in Eastern Visayas

Eastern visayas: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided at least PHP39.8 million worth of assistance to families affected by Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi) that battered Eastern Visayas last week. According to Philippines News Agency, the DSWD reported on Monday that relief aid included the distribution of 59,427 family food boxes, 3,067 ready-to-eat food packs, and 3,524 non-food items to affected households. Uwan Leaves Nearly 3 Million Households Without Power, NEA Reports

Manila: Nearly three million households suffered from power outages Sunday due to the impact of Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) but the National Electrification Administration (NEA) on Monday assured that assessments are ongoing. According to Philippines News Agency, NEA, in a press release, said at least 20 electric cooperatives in 12 affected regions declared total power interruptions, as Uwan lashed the Bicol region as well as the provinces of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Northern Samar, and Samar.
