Manila: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has apprehended 20,307 vehicles with expired registrations in June as part of the government’s crackdown against unregistered and unsafe cars. According to Philippines News Agency, LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, announced that aside from a PHP10,000 fine, unregistered vehicles will be impounded beginning August. He emphasized that the vehicles will remain impounded until they pass a roadworthiness inspection, highlighting this measure as crucial for the safety of road users. Manila: The Ilocos Police Regional Office (PRO1) has reported the seizure of illegal drugs valued at PHP7.3 billion during operations conducted between January 1 and June 29, 2025. According to Philippines News Agency, PRO1 spokesperson Lt. Col. Benigno Sumawang highlighted that a significant portion of the seized drugs consisted of over 1,000 kilograms of shabu.
