Over 23,000 Malaysians Enter Thailand Via Perlis Border Checkpoints

KANGAR, A total of 23,890 Malaysians were recorded exiting the country to Thailand through two border crossings in Perlis, namely the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS) in Padang Besar and Wang Kelian in conjunction with the school holidays and Malaysia Day yesterday. Perlis immigration director Khairul Amin Talib said from Sept 12 to 15, a total of 16,491 people were recorded leaving for Thailand at Padang Besar ICQS while another 7,399 people went through the ICQS in Wang Kelian. “The number is expected to increase until the end of the school holidays,” he told Bernama via WhatsApp today.

EIG’s MidOcean Energy to Acquire Additional 15% Interest in Peru LNG from Hunt Oil Company

WASHINGTON, MidOcean Energy (‘MidOcean’ or the ‘Company’), a liquefied natural gas (LNG) company formed and managed by EIG, a leading institutional investor in the global energy and infrastructure sectors, and Hunt Oil Company (‘Hunt’) announced today that they have entered into a definitive agreement whereby MidOcean will acquire an additional 15% interest in Peru LNG (‘PLNG’) from Hunt. Following the closing of the transaction, MidOcean’s interest in PLNG will increase from 20% to 35%. Aramco played a pivotal role in the transaction, including undertaking key technical and commercial due diligence as well as engaging with key stakeholders for transaction approval.

MOH Detects New Case Of Mpox

PUTRAJAYA, The Ministry of Health (MOH) detected one positive case of mpox clade II variant yesterday. Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan said the case was identified from 58 suspected mpox cases referred to the ministry this year.
