PUTRAJAYA, The Federal Court here today commuted the death sentence of a former sawmill worker to 40 years in prison for killing and raping a nurse nine years ago. KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today, despite the stronger performance of the COMEX gold futures. At the close, August 2024 slid to US$2,402.20 per troy ounce from US$2,432.60 per troy ounce at yesterday’s close. Meanwhile, September 2024, October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 all settled lower at US$2,405.90 per troy ounce compared to US$2,436.30 per troy ounce previously. Diesel price in Peninsula drops to RM3.30 per litre from tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, The retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be reduced by five sen to RM3.30 per litre from tomorrow until Aug 14. The price of the fuel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, however, remains at RM2.15 per litre during the same week.
