DOTr pushes for e-vehicle adoption in private, public transport

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is pushing for the adoption of electric vehicles (EV) in the country’s transportation system by building charging stations and other supporting infrastructures.   In partnership with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Department of Trade and Industry, the DOTr is formulating the Comprehensive Roadmap for the Electric Vehicle Industry (CREVI), DOTr Road Transport Undersecretary Mark Steven Pastor said during the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) in Pasay City on Friday.   The CREVI, Pastor said, aims to ensure the implementation of the four components necessary for the adoption of EVs – EV charging

PH welcomes partnership with EU in transport projects

An official of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) welcomed the contributions of its project partners in the European Union (EU) in building several transportation infrastructure projects.   DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista lauded the EU’s contribution to the Philippines’ economic growth and to different infrastructure projects across four DOTr sectors — aviation, maritime, rail and road transport.   “The DOTr will leverage its partnerships with European government, development partners, contractors, and consultants, to expand its European-supported pipeline of transport infrastructure projects,” Bautista said in a Facebook post Friday.   These EU partner projects include the New Manila International Airport in Bulacan

DOLE-9 distributes P17.7-M livelihood starter kits in Zambo City

The Department of Labor and Employment – Zamboanga Peninsula (DOLE-9) has distributed some PHP17.7 million in livelihood starter kits to 593 local public transport workers.   Wesley Tan, DOLE-9 chief labor and employment officer, said the livelihood kits are funded by the agency’s EnTSUPERneur Program, a joint project with Department of Transportation (DOTr) that aims to cushion the effect of the ongoing pandemic.   Tan said projects include drivers, driver-operators, conductors, mechanics, and barkers who received tools for carpentry, masonry, welding, vulcanizing, baking, commercial cooking, dressmaking, refrigeration and air condition repair, and rice retailing.   “We will monitor the beneficiaries

Maynilad ends water service interruptions in NCR, Cavite
