Percy Lapid’s brother joins gunman in crime scene walkthrough

Journalist Roy Mabasa joined the police in a walkthrough of the crime scene where his brother, broadcaster Percival Mabasa also known as “Percy Lapid”, was gunned down in Las Piñas City, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Wednesday.   In an update, SPD director Brig. Gen. DAR grants P450-K drying facility to NoCot farmers

PAF airlifts relief aid to typhoon-hit Ilocos Norte town

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) airlifted on Wednesday tons of relief aid to the victims of Typhoon Neneng in Adams, Ilocos Norte.   Marcell Tabije, provincial disaster risk reduction management officer, confirmed this as two PAF helicopters transported the relief packs containing 5,000 food packs, gasoline, and generator sets.   A cargo truck of the Ilocos Norte government prepared the relief packs and attempted to airlift them on Tuesday but bad weather prevented them to land in the area.   As soon as the sky cleared on Wednesday, troops of the Special Action Force immediately delivered at least 76 sacks

Blue Ribbon to give ‘bigger role’ to lawyers in Senate inquiries

Senator Francis Tolentino, chairperson of the Senate Blue-Ribbon Committee, announced on Wednesday that lawyers of respondents, witnesses, and resource persons will finally be given a chance to participate in subsequent committee proceedings.   Tolentino said this will be the first time that the Philippine Senate’s Blue-Ribbon Committee will give lawyers a “bigger role.”   “May karapatan sila.
