Santa Rosa: The Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) is set to co-host the concluding leg of the Korean LPGA Dream Tour’s inaugural overseas competitions at The Country Club in Santa Rosa, Laguna, from February 12 to 14. The event will be a significant gathering of elite golfers from various parts of Asia.

According to Philippines News Agency, the ICTSI Worldwide Link Philippine Ladies Masters will feature a formidable lineup of 132 players. Among these are 50 prominent figures from the Korean LPGT Dream Tour and the LPGA of Taiwan (TLPGA), along with 32 players from the LPGT. Notable Philippine golfers such as Harmie Constantino, Daniella Uy, Chanelle Avaricio, Mikha Fortuna, and others will compete in the 54-hole tournament, which boasts a total prize purse of USD 200,000 (approximately PHP 11.6 million).

The tournament also represents the second leg of the TLPGA circuit for the current season. The KLPGA’s chief executive officer, Lee Young-mi, emphasized the significance of this event in a news release, highlighting it as a vital step in establishing the KLPGA as a global golfing tour. The partnership with the LPGT underscores the Philippines’ commitment to fostering the growth of women’s golf on the international stage.

Colo Ventosa, general manager of co-organizer Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc., expressed that co-hosting a KLPGA event aligns with their mission to elevate the standards of Philippine ladies’ professional golf. Since the LPGT’s collaboration with the TLPGA in 2015, the tour has broadened its horizons, successfully organizing tournaments in Taiwan from 2018 onwards.
