Three Typhoon Tino-Hit Transmission Lines Remain Unavailable in Visayas

Manila: Three Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi)-hit transmission lines in the Visayas remain unavailable as of 9 p.m. on Wednesday, while another line has been restored, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) reported. NGCP said the Ormoc-Baybay 69kV line, which services the Leyte IV Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LEYECO IV), was restored at around 5:41 p.m.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Ormoc-San Isidro 69kV line is still partially energized. This caters to the Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DORELCO), Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative Inc. (SOLECO), LEYECO III, and LEYECO V. Meanwhile, the Maasin-Baybay 69kV Line that caters to LEYECO IV and the Calongcalong-Asturias 69kV Line that services the Cebu II Electric Cooperative (CEBECO II) remain totally unavailable.

The report also mentioned that there is one 230kV line currently unavailable, although no further details were disclosed. NGCP has mobilized its line crews and is conducting patrols, with simultaneous restoration activities in areas that are already accessible.
