Manila: Fourteen transmission lines across Luzon and the Visayas have been rendered unavailable due to the impact of Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong), the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) reported on Sunday. Nine transmission lines are affected in Luzon, while five are down in the Visayas.
According to Philippines News Agency, the affected lines in Luzon include the Daraga-Ligao 69kV Line and the Tiwi C-Pawa 69kV Line, both serving the Albay Electric Cooperative Inc. (ALECO). The Sorsogon-Bulan 69kV Line, serving Sorsogon I Electric Cooperative Inc. (SORECO I) and SORECO II, is also impacted. Other affected lines include the Naga-Lagonoy 69kV Line and Naga-Libmanan 69kV Line, serving various sectors of the Camarines Sur Electric Cooperatives. Additionally, the Naga-Tinambac 69kV Line and the Naga-Iriga 69kV Line, serving different CASURECO divisions, are down.
In the Visayas, the Palanas-Cara-Catarman-Allen-Lao-ang 69kV Line, serving the Northern Samar Electric Cooperative Inc. (NORSAMELCO), and the Paranas-Quinapondan 69kV Line, catering to the Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative (ESAMELCO), are among the affected. The Babatngon-Arado 69kV Line, along with two lines serving the Samar Electric Cooperative Inc. (SAMELCO I), are also unavailable.
The NGCP also reported that two 138kV lines, one 230kV line, and two 350kV lines are currently unavailable, though further details have yet to be disclosed. “Inspection and restoration of lines in the affected areas will be in full swing once the weather allows,” the NGCP stated.
