PRO-12 Seizes P1.6 Million Worth of Shabu, Explosives, and Firearms in Two-Day Operation

Manila: Operatives of the Police Regional Office-Soccsksargen (PRO-12) arrested eight drug personalities and seized over PHP1.6 million worth of "shabu" during the Simultaneous Anti-Crime Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) on Sept. 8 and 9, an official said Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the drug personalities were apprehended in the provinces of Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Sarangani, and North Cotabato during intensified anti-drug operations, as reported by PRO-12 Director Brig. Gen. Alan Manibog.

In addition to the crackdown on illegal drugs, police units also focused on the campaign against loose firearms and explosives. During the operation, authorities confiscated 11 explosives and seven assorted unlicensed guns, further strengthening the region's efforts to combat illegal activities.

The operation also led to the arrest of nine individuals with outstanding warrants. These individuals have been presented to the courts that issued the warrants. Furthermore, eight persons were detained in connection with cigarette smuggling, and four suspected illegal miners were apprehended.

Manibog emphasized the ongoing commitment to tackling illegal activities, stating, "There's no let-up in our campaign against illegal activities, wanted persons, and the proliferation of loose firearms."
