New delhi: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed that his birthday wish is to establish lasting government reforms beyond his administration and to spend more time with his family.
According to Philippines News Agency, President Marcos shared his aspirations during a media briefing following the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India. He emphasized the importance of laying the groundwork for sustainable reforms and programs initiated by his administration. Marcos stated, "I wish I'll be able to get the beginnings of what we started in place, so that they continue." He described this effort as a restructuring aimed at improving government institutions.
Celebrating his 69th birthday on September 13, Marcos highlighted the need for continuity in reforms and stressed the Philippines' commitment to international engagement. He remarked that the country would persist in promoting trade and diplomacy, always siding with peace.
Additionally, the President expressed a personal desire to spend more time with his family, particularly his children and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. He mentioned the challenges of conflicting schedules and wished for more opportunities to be with his loved ones. Marcos said, "I wish I saw more of all of you. And it's not just my children, including the First Lady. Our schedules don't match very well."
