Manila: The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced on Monday that its operatives had apprehended 216,213 individuals in Metro Manila for violating local ordinances, resulting in PHP64.2 million in fines collected in February.
According to Philippines News Agency, NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin observed a consistent increase in the number of violators apprehended, penalized, and charged since December 2024. This trend has been attributed to the intensified enforcement of local ordinances across the region. The data revealed that last month’s violators exceeded the 192,063 offenders recorded in January and the 200,642 in December.
Of the 216,213 violators in February, the NCRPO reported that 126,428 individuals were issued warnings, 86,538 were fined, and 3,249 were charged. The fines collected also saw a rise from PHP57 million in January and PHP52.7 million in December.
Brig. Gen. Aberin stated, “The increasing trend in our accomplishments reflects our unwavering commitment towards safety and security. With our aggressive and consistent stance in implementing ordinances, we are fostering a culture of discipline, public cooperation, and mutual respect for the rule of law.”
The NCRPO comprises five districts: the Manila Police District (MPD), Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Northern Police District (NPD), Southern Police District (SPD), and Eastern Police District (EPD).
