P3.4-M Illegal Drugs Seized, 30 Arrested in Weeklong Ops in Bicol

Bicol: Over PHP3.4 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated and 30 suspects were arrested in a week-long operation by the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) from Sept. 15 to 21.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr. reported that the confiscated items included 500.95 grams of shabu and 9 grams of marijuana. The operations resulted in 26 anti-illegal drugs activities, leading to the arrest of 30 individuals. Among those arrested, two were identified as high-value individuals, while the remaining 28 were categorized as street-level offenders.

A total of 32 criminal cases have been filed in connection with these arrests. Among the provinces, Masbate reported the highest value of confiscated drugs, amounting to PHP1,945,124, followed by Naga City with PHP1,025,100 and Camarines Sur with PHP297,636. Additional seizures included Albay with PHP49,580, Camarines Norte with PHP16,048, and Sorsogon with PHP74,024. Notably, Catanduanes reported no recorded drug seizures during this period.
