San jose de buenavista: The Joint Assessment Team formed to ensure the structural integrity of government offices found no cracks or other damages, particularly in the two provincial capitol buildings in Antique, after the 6.9 magnitude earthquake felt across the Visayas regions on Tuesday evening.

According to Philippines News Agency, Antique Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer III Michael Tolentino said in an interview on Wednesday that the team, composed of personnel from their office, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), has so far not seen cracks or damage at the new and old capitol buildings in San Jose de Buenavista.

Tolentino mentioned that they have requested the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Antique and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (MDRRMOs) to conduct their own assessments. This directive aligns with Memorandum Order 69 issued by Civil Defense (OCD) Regional Director and Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council chair, Raul Fernandez, to ensure public safety.

Meanwhile, DepEd Antique Engineer Rex Galero confirmed that their assessment of the division office found no damage. He stated that the DepEd Division Office is safe for occupancy. Galero added that they plan to visit schools on Thursday to assess their structural integrity for the safety of learners and teachers.
