Nearly 1 Million Pangasinenses Enrolled in PhilHealth Konsulta Program

Pangasinan: Around 1 million Pangasinenses are now enrolled in the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) program of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) through the provincial government’s Government Unified Incentives for Medical Consultation (Guiconsulta) program. Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III announced on Thursday that the number of enrollees has grown since Guiconsulta was launched in September last year.

According to Philippines News Agency, the program aims to encourage PhilHealth members in the province to take advantage of the preventive healthcare package. Under Guiconsulta, those availing of PhilHealth’s Konsulta program receive fare and food allowances. Konsulta, a benefit mandated by the Universal Health Care Law, provides free medical consultations, health screenings, selected laboratory tests, diagnostics, and medicines for pre-existing conditions. Each PhilHealth member and dependents are entitled to PHP1,700 worth of Konsulta benefits annually.

Governor Guico explained that the program reaches out to those who are unable to access PhilHealth services by enrolling them individually using an accredited electronic management record as mandated by PhilHealth. The provincial government aims to enroll 2 million members and has allocated PHP400 million to PHP500 million for the program this year. All 14 government hospitals in Pangasinan are accredited Konsulta providers.
