Manila: The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested three women for attempting to sell a property in Subic, Zambales using fake ownership papers. The operation resulted in the apprehension of the suspects, who were charged with syndicated swindling, falsification of public and official documents, and using falsified documents.

According to Philippines News Agency, the National Bureau of Investigation-Olongapo District Office conducted the operation on September 18. The suspects were caught while receiving money from the complainant during an entrapment operation. Investigations revealed that one of the women impersonated the actual owner of the lot and attempted to sell the property for PHP2 million.

Further investigations uncovered that the trio had also tried to sell the same property to another victim using a different fraudulent title. The victims, realizing the deception, sought assistance from the NBI. Subsequent verification by the Registry of Deeds confirmed that all the titles presented by the suspects were counterfeit.

In a separate case, the NBI-Sarangani District Office reported the arrest of an individual in General Santos City on charges of sexual assault and qualified rape of a minor. The victim, the suspect’s stepdaughter, reported being abused on multiple occasions in January. The arrest was made possible after the Prosecutor’s Office of General Santos City concurred with the NBI’s recommendation, leading to a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in General Santos City.
