San juan city: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday suspended for 90 days the license of the driver involved in a hit-and-run collision in Santolan Road, San Juan City, that went viral on social media.

According to Philippines News Agency, the LTO also summoned both the driver and the registered owner of the vehicle to appear before the LTO on Sept. 29 to explain the incident.

The suspension comes as a response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for responsible motorist behavior to ensure the safety of all road users. The incident, captured in a dashcam video, showed a white Honda City sedan counterflowing on Santolan Road and colliding with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) on September 20.

The video, which quickly spread on social media, allegedly shows the white vehicle fleeing the scene after the collision. Both the driver and the owner of the sedan now face potential charges, including reckless driving and improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

In addition to the license suspension, the LTO has placed the Honda City car on an alarm to block all transactions with their office.
