LOS ANGELES: Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, broke Michael Jordan’s longstanding record for the most 30-point games in the league’s history on Friday night. James scored 30 points for the 563rd time, surpassing the record set by Jordan in 2003.
According to Philippines News Agency, James, 40, who is currently in his 22nd NBA season, achieved this milestone during a game against the Atlanta Hawks at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Lakers defeated the Hawks 119-102, with James playing a pivotal role in the victory. This latest achievement adds to James’s illustrious career, which includes four NBA championships, the most recent with the Lakers in 2020, and an MVP title.
In addition to breaking Jordan’s record, James also surpassed former Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki in the number of games played in the NBA. By appearing in his 1,523rd game on Friday, James moved to fourth place on the all-time games played list. Nowitzki, who was the 2011 NBA champion with the Mavericks, retired with an extensive career in the league.
