Davao del Norte: Authorities confiscated PHP3.7 million worth of shabu and arrested two suspects during a buy-bust operation in Davao del Norte on Tuesday night, police reported Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, director of the Police Regional Office-11 (PRO-11), stated that the joint operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Canatan, Asuncion town resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects.
The apprehended individuals included a high-value target known as “Taher” and a street-level dealer identified as “Boy.” Police recovered 11 plastic sachets containing some 550 grams of shabu, along with various drug paraphernalia and non-drug evidence.
The seized drugs have an estimated street value of PHP3.7 million based on current Dangerous Drugs Board pricing. “This successful operation demonstrates our intensified campaign against illegal drugs, particularly targeting high-value individuals and drug dens in the region,” Rosete said in a statement.
The suspects are currently detained at the Asuncion Municipal Police Station and would face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
