Tunis:The registrations of 50 groups, organizations, or coalitions are at risk of being canceled and delisted from the country's party-list system. This action follows their failure to participate in the last two national elections or to secure at least 2 percent of the votes needed to gain a seat in the House of Representatives.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) released a Notice of Cancellation and Delisting, indicating that these groups' registrations are being considered for removal. This measure is part of the Commission's mandate to ensure compliance with electoral participation requirements.
Among the groups that failed to participate in the last two elections are 1 Alliance Advocating Autonomy Party (1AAAP), 1-United Transport Kialisyon (1-UTAK), Agbiag Timpuyog Ilocano, Inc. (AGBIAG), and several others including the Filipino Family Party (FFP) and One Philippines (1P).
Additionally, the Comelec identified groups that did not obtain the necessary votes or a seat in the last two elections, such as Advocacy for Teachers Empowerment Through Action Cooperation and Harmony Towards Educational Reform (A TEACHER), Advocates and Keepers Organization of OFWS, Inc. (AKO-OFW), and Ako Padayon Pilipino (AKO PADAYON).
Other organizations facing potential delisting include Bayan Muna (BAYAN MUNA), Buhay Hayaan Yumabong (BUHAY), and the Democratic Independent Workers' Association (DIWA), among others.
