CICC Partners with DAP to Enhance Cybersecurity Operations and Workforce Development

Manila: The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has formed a partnership with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) for the improvement of systems, processes, and workforce development towards stronger cybersecurity in the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, CICC Undersecretary Renato 'Aboy' Paraiso stated that the partnership was made official through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that will have the DAP provide technical assistance to the CICC for the development of a Quality Management System certifiable to ISO 9001:2015. Paraiso emphasized the agency's commitment to continuous improvement, institutional excellence, and the protection of Filipinos in the digital space.

Under the partnership, CICC personnel will undergo a series of workshops, training, and consultations designed and facilitated by DAP. These initiatives aim to strengthen organizational systems and invest in the agency's workforce. Paraiso highlighted the importance of ensuring that CICC employees are equipped to adapt to continuous developments and learning while fulfilling their duties.

The DAP training will cover essential areas such as Integrated Management System, Quality Management System, Risk Management Guidelines, and Information Security Management System. The partnership was spearheaded by CICC Cybercrime Policy and Planning Division officer-in-charge Christian Salazar to help institutionalize a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement at the agency. Salazar emphasized that quality public service begins with quality processes built by people committed to excellence.

In addition to this partnership, the CICC announced a strategic collaboration with the National Bureau of Investigation to develop policies, lead cybercrime investigations, conduct and share research, and pool resources to enhance the country's cybersecurity framework. The CICC has been actively addressing cases involving online scams, illegal online gambling, and online sexual abuse or exploitation of children.
