KUCHING, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has reminded contractors that the onus is on them to ensure the smooth implementation of projects awarded by the government. JERTIH, The spread of malaria through imported cases in Terengganu is causing concern, with 24 cases recorded since the beginning of this year. Terengganu health director Datuk Dr Kasemani Embong said the imported cases account for almost all of the 25 malaria cases identified during the same period, with the remaining case being zoonotic, transmitted from animals. ‘Although the number of imported cases, brought in by foreign nationals, has decreased compared to 30 cases last year, it remains worrying. ‘The 24 imported malaria cases, spread by Anopheles mosquitoes, involved Rohingyas and those from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Papua New Guinea.

IPOH, The Legal Aid Department will expand the Justice on Wheels (JoW) programme to Peninsular Malaysia to provide understanding and assistance to the B40 group in resolving legal issues. Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) M. KUALA TERENGGANU, A Myanmar labourer was fined RM5,000 by the Sessions Court here today for offering RM250 to a police officer to not take action against him for engaging in second-hand business without a licence. Judge Norashima Khalid meted out the fine on Mohammad Shakir Mohammad Zokoria, 27, who pleaded guilty to the charge. He paid the fine.
