KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed lower on Friday due to broad-based selling in tandem with the slump in regional bourses as investors remained cautious over the United States’ slowing economic growth and expectations of another rate hike in Japan. Nenggiri By-election: Media Centre To Start Operation Tomorrow – JaPen

GUA MUSANG, The media centre for the Nenggiri state by-election will start operation from tomorrow until August 17, to facilitate media practitioners to prepare news reports throughout the by-election. Kelantan Department of Information (JaPen) director Muhd Nor Aswadi Md Nor said the centre which provides internet facilities and a place for media conferences will be open from 9 am to 7 pm, every day. “The centre can accommodate about 20 media personnel at a time. KUALA LUMPUR: Aug 1 (Bernama) –The Second Chance Policy initiative implemented by the government under the ‘Rukun Ihsan’ principle provides a new lease on life for the bankrupts. Selangor Insolvency director Pavani Kasi said bankrupt individuals who benefitted from the initiative thanked the government for the move and were now relieved that the ‘restrictions’ imposed on them had been lifted. “We have granted relief to many bankrupt individuals under the Second Chance Policy. MANILA: The Philippine economy likely grew at 6 percent in the second quarter of the year, an economist said on Friday.
